Dr. Beth Ayoo
A visionary leader at the intersection of environmental science and urban innovation, Dr. Beth Ayoo is the driving force behind the Urban Climate Resilience Network (UCRN). With a PhD in Environmental Policy and over a decade of hands-on experience, she possesses a unique blend of academic rigor and practical expertise in building sustainable, resilient communities.
Dr. Ayoo is a sought-after voice on the global stage, recognized for her influential work. She was recently nominated for the 4th African Women Awards (Africa's 100 Most Influential Women), Rwanda, 2025. Her expertise was also showcased as a keynote speaker for the 2023 World Environment Day seminar on Solid Waste Management in Small Island Developing States, held in Mauritius.
As a seasoned consultant, she has led high-impact projects across Africa, from developing a gender-sensitive roadmap for integrating the Liberia Conservation Fund for Conservation International, to crafting Environmental Management Systems training programs for South Sudanese officials. Her published research on environmental policy and mining impacts is internationally recognized, providing an evidence-based foundation for UCRN's mission.
Her passion for empowering communities and transforming urban landscapes is the core of UCRN. She doesn't just study resilience, she builds it, turning research into real-world solutions like green infrastructure and urban agriculture that cool cities, enhance food security, and protect vulnerable ecosystems.
